Lancaster University:

Lancaster University's research strengths include ageing; mental health; social and economic inequalities in health; health information, computation and statistics; and infectious disease transmission and biology.

Health Innovation Campus:

The aim is to create a world-class centre for innovation in health, transforming healthcare and changing practice internationally, nationally, and regionally - a ‘go to’ place for health innovation. The HIC will also be a catalyst for wealth creation, making a major contribution to the local and national economy, by attracting major investment, supporting job creation and the growth of businesses locally and improving the health of populations in the region.

Innovation Agency:

The Innovation Agency, Academic Health Science Network for the North West Coast covers Cheshire, Merseyside, Lancashire and South Cumbria, with 4.1 million residents. Its footprint includes 22 NHS providers, 20 CCGs, nine universities and life science industry partners.

Lancashire & Cumbria Clinical Research Hub:

The NIHR Cumbria and Lancashire CRN was first in the country for recruitment targeting commercial clinical trials for the last two years.

The Centre for Ageing Research (C4AR):

A leading national centre for ageing research and teaching.

MRC North West Hub for Trials Methodology Research (NWHTMR):

A collaboration between the Universities of Liverpool, Lancaster and Bangor. The MRC and NIHR have funded seven hubs as part of a national network.

LiLaC NIHR funded centres for Public Health research:

One of eight NIHR funded centres, run in collaboration with University of Liverpool.
