On 9 June, 2025, the Northern Health Science Alliance held its Mental Health network meeting, where Professor Nav Kapur of the University of Manchester and Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust, delivered an impactful presentation around the inequalities in suicide, and actionable approaches to tackling the suicide crisis. Professor Kapur is a nationally recognised leader in suicide prevention and mental health research. He is also Director of the National Confidential Enquiry into Suicide and Safety of Mental Health.
