A launch event to celebrate Northumbria University becoming a NHSA alliance member brought together researchers from a range of disciplines at the city centre campus, providing an opportunity to showcase the university’s health research expertise and identify areas for closer collaboration through NHSA’s networks.

Discussions highlighted a number of shared priorities, including health equity, translating research evidence into policy, workforce development, health economics, real-world evaluation, support for clinical academics, and research and innovation.

As one of NHSA’s newer members, Northumbria University is bringing significant expertise to the Alliance’s growing network of universities, NHS organisations and research partners across the North.

The event also provided an opportunity to explore how researchers at Northumbria can connect with wider northern collaborations, helping to build new partnerships and support the translation of research into improvements in health and care.

The event marks an important step in developing the relationship between NHSA and Northumbria University, with further opportunities for collaboration expected through NHSA’s networks and programmes.
