This month, the NHSA is leading a northern delegation to Israel’s leading life science and technology event, Biomed (May 10 – 12).
Representatives from universities and NHS trusts in the North join the NHSA’s delegation, co-hosted by the UK Israel Tech Hub and Israeli Foreign Trade Administration.
It is an opportunity to showcase the North’s world-class life science sector on the international stage and forge new business collaborations to tackle major healthcare challenges.
The NHSA will exhibit alongside thousands of innovators at the event. Members of the delegation have the opportunity to join talks from some of the world’s leading experts in research, innovation, medical technologies, AI, data, advanced therapies and much more.
Dr Ben Martyn, Cluster Development Manager at the NHSA, said: “Biomed is a brilliant opportunity to experience Israel’s thriving life science sector, meet leading health experts, network and exchange knowledge.
“In taking the North of England’s bold ambitions to a global audience, we hope to further grow our relationships with Israeli companies and industry leaders, and bring breakthrough technologies, innovation and investment to the North of England.
“We’d like to say a big thank you to our co-hosts, the UK Israel Tech Hub and Israeli Foreign Trade Administration, for all of their hard work and support in putting together an exciting agenda and fantastic opportunities.”
Israel is known as the start-up nation and the delegation is an opportunity for northern organisations to tap into its healthcare market, to drive jobs, investment, and innovative technologies into the North of England.
During the week-long Innovation Tour, running until May 13, delegates will visit leading medical centres and Israeli companies. They will learn about the ground-breaking techniques and life-saving treatments in development.
The NHSA 2022 delegation to Israel brings together academics, industry and healthcare professionals, including representatives from: NIHR Clinical Research Network, Yorkshire and Humber Academic Health Science Network (AHSN), Innovation Agency North West Coast, University of Sheffield, Sheffield Hallam University, Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT), Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, and Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
